If you’re looking for a reliable adapter for your 1966-77 Bronco Dana 20 transfer case, the Ford AOD adapter is a great option. Made from 356 T-6 heat-treated aluminum alloy, this adapter is built to last. It’s also 6.00″ in length and has a provision to retain the original early Bronco mount. The kit includes everything you need, including a new AOD output shaft, spud shaft, retainer, bearing, snap ring, gasket, seal, o-ring, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions.
The AOD transmission itself is also a popular choice among Bronco owners. Its gear ratio is great for both trail and highway use, and we manufacture adapters for both early and late model AOD transmissions. Keep in mind that the transmission assembly is 1-1/2″ longer than the stock V8 assembly, so you’ll need to relocate and modify your stock crossmember. The “T” handle transfer case shifter is the easiest linkage to use, but the “J” pattern can also be used with a little ingenuity.
