Early years
If you are anything like me, you love the excitement of 4-wheeling, rock crawling, or racing. Let me tell you a little about myself.
My wife and I first bought a bronco together. Had a 1970, went through and restored it, lifted it, and locked it up. That’s what got me into the 4-wheelin’. It was so much fun going to Moab Utah on all the trails. Taking it everywhere.
We started in my shop rebuilding classic broncos. Word soon got out that we were doing the restore on them and I soon found that we had plenty of work. In 2001 is when we went full time with the shop.
Racing
I grew up drag racing, so I had a love for racing. Back in the day when we had to have a frame from something. With having a lot of experience with Broncos, I decided to take a Bronco frame. I’m going to build it out of that.
We started building a race car out of a Bronco chassis. We get a lot of recognition with the bronco hood and the bronco panels.
There’s not much Bronco frame left but we still run a Ford engne, Ford transmission, Ford axels. We’re kind of diehard Ford blue fans.
I put a team together and was competitive in Rock Crawlers for a long time with ARCA and UROC.
We competed on a couple of Baja Championships. We won Baja 1000 in 2014. Baja 1000 is amazing to have under your belt as an accomplishment.
When we went down to King of the Hammers. Hooked me right away. This definitely is more challenging and way more fun. I want to win the King of the Hammers race. This is on my bucket list. This is the goal we’re after right now.
We have a team of 15 guys that are dedicated. We run three pits during this race. They all have their assignments. We have a mechanic, a fueler, and a pit boss at every single pit. They all have their own jobs that they do. They love it and I love having them. I couldn’t do it without them.
My guys help me out a lot. They don’t get paid right now. They’re working for beer basically. They’re here and we provide everything that we can. But they’re all here because they love the sport. They all have wheelers and love doing the same thing we do. And they’re all here to support me. It’s awesome.
